Production Engineer (Experienced)

Overview

As a Production Engineer at Evergreen, you will play a critical role in managing sophisticated, high-performance infrastructure with a goal of 100% uptime. This includes supporting a dynamic research environment and low-latency trading infrastructure.

 

Joining Evergreen presents a unique opportunity to implement robust and scalable processes for managing a technology stack that is unencumbered by legacy infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall: Ensuring infrastructure reliability, availability and performance

  • Scalability and quality: Implementing and maintaining software to improve the performance, scalability and automation of systems, including:

    • Building and maintaining software to support robust real-time trading system monitoring

    • Identifying and automating repetitive tasks across research and live trading applications and infrastructure  

    • Modeling and supporting high standards for software quality

    • Working with technical vendors to roll-out new and support existing technology infrastructure

  • Troubleshooting: Acting as a first line of defense for incident management, including:

    • Providing on-call troubleshooting and resolution of application, network and operating systems issues

    • Building and maintaining software to support incident response, such as tools to improve the pace and ease of debugging

 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or another related field

  • Three to five years of relevant full-time work experience in a production engineering, systems engineering, site reliability or dev-ops role

  • Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Python, including experience with Linux systems configuration and management

  • Advanced knowledge of computer networks and network architecture

  • Experience with current software development tools and practices for monitoring, testing, source control, build systems and CI/CD

  • Experience with management and debugging of production systems

  • Detail-oriented, with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Collaborative mindset and enjoys working within a team

 

Other helpful, related experience

  • Past job experience with production engineering, site reliability and/or DevOps for low latency trading systems and managed co-located servers

Benefits 

  • Annual base salary of $200,000 in addition to performance bonus and company-paid medical, dental, vision and other benefits
